Leasing a Grand Cherokee. We have looked at Limited X models, Overlands and a High Altitudes. All dealers in NJ. One dealer told me that all models except Laredos carry an acquisition fee of $595. However, I have gotten quotes on the Limited X and Overland and the dealer did not mention or note acquisition fees. One listed the details of the lease and included tax, registration, doc fees, tire tax, NJ luxury/supplement tax but no acquisition fee.
So who is right? Can dealers waive the acquisition fee?
Acquisition Fees are often not listed on the deal sheet a dealer will give out to customers. But just because it isn’t listed on their sheet doesn’t mean they’re not including it.
Chrysler Cap does sometimes do weird things with waiving acquisition fees. I’ve seen it vary based on lease term (where 42 month had no acquisition fee, but 36 and 48 did), etc
I thought that too so I asked the dealer if there was an acquisition fee in there and he responded as there being no acquisition fee. Now he could be lying or not realize it’s in there. Although I did basically recalculate his lease offer and got close to the monthly without adding in an acquisition fee.
Yet another dealer is including it. I am curious if the one dealer is just marking up the car by claiming there is an acquisition fee.
They all are saying it’s CCAP. Really bizarre how some say no acquisition fee and some say there is. Guys over on Edmunds that provide residuals and MFs say it’s waived for all Grand Cherokees except Summit, SRT and Trackhawk. But some dealers in NJ are saying it’s only Laredos that get a waived fee.
