So to update. Went into dealer and placed a pre order for the 2021 corvette. Dealer said no deposit needed until time of placing order and start of production. Going w the 2lt convertible!

Update to the update. My local dealer sucks and I decided to go to the number 2 dealer in the nation for corvettes. 2k deposit that’s refundable up to ordering

A car is either worth buying for $X, or it’s not. Whether X is above or below some imaginary line called “MSRP” is meaningless.
When did they say it will be delivered?
At this rate, might have to get a real mid engine sports car, ie a Porsche.
Spring next year. My bmw lease is up in a year so this lines up perfectly. Only Porsche I’m interested in is 911. Corvette to me out does the 911 looks wise. Plus hardtop convertible…0 to 60 in 3 seconds…my favorite blue color and under 80k sticker! This is the route for me 
I was on the 101 freeway coming back from LA last night and was cruising in my Challenger Hellcat at 80 Mph…was night time, I spot four headlights approaching very very fast to my right…a white Porsche 911 and a white C8 zoom by at at least 140 MPH they were both head to head…Punch it you say

-but naah, too dangerous with all the traffic around. I had a 2001 C5 and planning to get a C8 but wait till it all settles down in a couple of years-probably snag a used 2020 for cheaper!
