Cheapest leases for EV or Plug-In Hybrid in CA

Looking to lease something in SoCal to replace aging ICE SUV (2013 Toyota Rav4). Yes, I realize that driving it into the ground is the most fiscally responsible thing to do, but I’d like to know if I can get close to breaking even with an EV or Plug-in and cutting out the gas. This car is used for local commuting and probably gets around 30 miles each day or less.

Sedan or SUV, it doesn’t matter. I’m just looking to know what the cheapest deals are out there these days without driving a Vinfast

Nissan ariya 18m, $300 month, many examples here.

I have very low EV and Plugin options for Hyundai/Kia currently in Socal

I saw some great Kona EV deals here. Search for those.

Polestar 2 can also get below $300 I think. Not a huge fan of the look or the bodystyle myself.

Requires high DAS.

Yea, the high DAS defeats the purpose of an economical commuter lease. :frowning:

Many leases can be $300 if you don’t mind throwing 5 - 10k at them.

You can compare long term ownership of something like a brand new Corolla hybrid or Prius Prime to leasing an Ioniq or Kona.

Some of the pros and cons: higher monthly payments on the former but you lock in payments for 6 years and have no payments after. EV leases are cheap right now, mainly due to excess production capacity. That may not necessarily be the case in 2-3 years when the lease ends. 2021-22 taught us that you need some financial flexibility to allow for how much pricing could be higher when trying to replace a reasonable lease.

Here you go!
