Payments in the $300s should be doable with drive-offs and MSDs due at signing, plus College Grad rebate. TFS offers decent money factors on them (here in CA, .00133 for Corolla and .00028 for Camry after MSD, which are better than their finance rates) and conservative residuals, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see some lease-end equity.
It has a mechanical issue not worth repairing, that’s why I’m coming up with the 2k figure based on the value and cost of repair.

Look at some of the Broker sheets on here - I see CARMA has some Mazda CX-30s and CX-50s under $300, and they are really nice cars. Jim’s Toyota thread has some Corolla’s and Corolla Cross’ in that range as well.
