Any advice? I thought I had card on auto pay but I had the other chase prime card on auto pay twice! Lo and behold payment beyond 30 days as I never had the app/card in the mail yet so new.
my 790 fell to 680 for a $60 debt smh
EDIT: $60 minimum payment due including late fees, $400 total. they waived the late fees but told me to f*** off on the credit bureau side
Call up their support line and tell them you their system had a glitch or whatever. And they may out of courtesy submit a change to the bureaus to reflect you had made successful consecutive payments and get the mark removed from your credit report(s).
But consider that lately the loan and credit servicing teams are under massive pressure to ensure they collect on a timely basis and limit losses. A ton of investment has gone into automations and AI tools for them to find issues and make sure they collect from people to get them current. Goodwill and customer retention is no longer a priority for many of these lenders.
unfortunately true. I was trying to buy a house later this year, apparently not a huge issue from a borrowing power standpoint is what my lending guy told me, but does affect my rate.
I called them and let em know I tried paying in person, got referred to phone but couldn’t get far considering the automated system kept asking for card number complete and I hadn’t got it ((they wouldn’t give me over the phone).
Trying my shot at goodwill saturation and hoping for the best. I paid it off obviously.
I do and yes that’s how I eventually got in touch but it is too late they told me, will be sending emails/letters on this cluster hopefully they take it off
Call and ask for a one time courtesy as it was an unintentional accounting error
Write a dispute to the credit agencies. Not saying to lie but tell them you disagree with the record as you had it set for autopay and it didn’t process. Had similar happen to wife and although the dispute wasn’t approved her score went up 50 points within the month.
greatly appreciated even from just a peace of mind standpoint. I’m normally very on top of things, have never had sub-780 since my credit journey started. Now that I’m at the cusp of making the largest purchase in my plebeian life (house) this shitstorm hits.
Good news is my Equifax already jumped 30+ points from yesterday (I paid off all cards to lower utilization). This whole credit shit is a farse lol
if it makes you feel any better, i paid off a car loan because it was hurting my dti for my house purchase… and totally forgot that closing an account also kills your credit score. it was fine, we still ended up closing on time but my pmi went way up
