After Vroom, Carvana has stopped buying out leased BMW

At this time, we are not able to move forward with purchasing your leased vehicle as Carvana’s policy does not align with BMW/Mini’s policies, and this prevents us from being able to purchase leased vehicles from this provider.

I still have around a year left for this lease.
Any other suggestion to sell the leased BMW? Can I actually get a car loan to pay off the lease before it ends so I can sell it?

Bmw had stopped allowing 3rd party buyouts, so your option is to sell it to a bmw dealer. You may have luck with autonation. Otherwise you can buy it out and sell it to whomever.

Or transfer the lease?

Like Matt mentioned try Autonation. I think there is an AN Bmw dealer maybe 5-6 hours north of NYC.

BMW of Mt. Kisco is an AN store and much closer.

Yes that’s the one. Thanks for the correction.

You can buy it and then try to sell it at a profit, or get someone to take over your lease. The used car market is so hot - either option is likely to work.

If I buyout my car from BMW and sell it to Carvana right away will I still be responsible for the sales tax? I’m in KY, if anyone is familiar with the process I’d appreciate the help.

yes. CA is the only state with a work around for the sales tax.
