Car Totaled - what to do with insurance?

Our finance paid off car was totaled. I have received the check and looking for a lease now. I have another car active on that geico account.

What should we do or make sure happens to the policy? Eventually getting a second car once we can get a favorable lease. But adjuster said geico will remove that car eventually after pay out

What should we do / confirm happens?

Let GEICO deal with it; they know better and are in control of next steps anyways. Nothing for you to do.

Why do you want a car that is totaled to stay on the Geico Account? Why make payments on a car that is totaled.

Anyhow once Geico gives you a check, it’s removed from the account.

So let them remove the inactive car at the moment and just leave the other car as is?

Isn’t there a benefit of leaving the other car in some way so when we add the new lease car whenever - we can have a multi car discount?

Haven’t been in this situation previously hence the ask

your Multi went poof and will reappear when the next car is added.
It’s all done in the computers.

Super - thanks

Your insurers already know what is going on; nothing you can do on the front end to change things around. Everything will catch up and be recalculated when your next premium payments are due (or refunded).

Also, you both need to be on the remaining car as drivers, otherwise one of you will lose driving experience with the insurance.
