Can I remove protection package from XC90?

I am looking hard at closing a deal on an XC90 before the EOY

I found one I like but it has protection package (rubber floor mats and trunk liner) adding $$$s to the MSRP but I don’t want them

Given that they are obviously easy to take out of the car at I likely to have much success if I ask the dealer to remove them from the car - and from the MSRP before beginning negotiations?

If they are dealer installed, you can ask them to remove it. Most likely though, they are factory/port installed and cannot be removed.

In either case, you are picking the wrong area to fight with a dealer. These items are how much, $300 extra? They are residualized so you’re paying like $5/month.

Ok good to know the difference between port installed and dealer installed

My thinking is that I will wait until every other element of the negotiation is concluded and then try and get them removed as a last hurrah.

Agree that $5 a month isn’t much but over 39 months that’s $195 which would buy me and the wife a nice dinner - instead of ugly rubber mats I would remove myself (assuming they can just be pulled out easily)

Thanks @Jon for the info

Good luck @StevefordIII. Considering one myself here in SoCal. Which model and what kind of discount off MSRP are you targeting considering the existing ones? Anything you can share to help me in my search? Thx
