California Lease sticker in the windshield

I started a lease a month ago and the dealer put a clear sticker in the windshield with a paper folded (I assume temporary registration?) inside. The sticker and paper is quite big and it’s disturbing to look at.

Does anyone know when I could remove this sticker?

Did you get your license plates yet? If so you can remove.

It was a loaner vehicle, so the license plate came with the vehicle. Can I still remove this?

You should receive a new registration card. When you receive the card you can remove the temp

Yes. As Cody said, it could/should have been removed once the permanent plates were installed.

Thank you for really prompt answer  What is the approximate time for the new registration card to arrive in CA? It’s already been a few weeks.

Its generally 1 month

Does the temp registration still get out on the windowshield even with paper plates now?

It does. Seems pointless, but as Cody mentioned, I suppose it serves as temporary registration too.

Which reminds me, I need to remove it from the Tiguan’s windshield.

I believe you cannot remove the window sticker until you receive your registration card, regardless whether you have the license plate or not.

I also leased a loaner back in April. It took ~6 weeks to receive my registration. It came from the dealership instead of DMV.

Received mine in less than 10 days; however, my wife received hers in 45-60 days… So, there’s no telling when you’d receive yours. You have a temp tag, so just try and ignore the “ugly sticker” on your windshield as much as you can haha

Just picked up my car today and the salesman said that they don’t need to tape that temp registration on the windshield anymore.

is the temp windshield sticker still required? I got this ugly sticker with my new car today. really want to rip it off

I have not had any windshield stickers on my leases in California.
Does it have your temp registration inside?

yes a temp registration under dealer’s tape. but there is already temp paper plate so doubt this is needed

I keep my temp registration in my glovebox not on the windshield.
