Agree. Browsing the Edmunds forum indicates that the XT4 has a low MF, but the RV are really bad. I wonder if the $3579 is actually cap cost reduction, rather than true DAS.
Not sure if she wants the vehicle urgently but the mid cycle refresh for XT4 is due pretty soon. Adds lots of cool stuff like the giant screen from the Escalade and is nicer inside.
I have limited experience with the calculator, but I gave it my best effort and used avg prices for doc fees, acquisition fees. Didn’t get me anywhere close to what she told me…thoughts.
I’ve been doing the same research on a XT4 here in Michigan. This is about the going rate honestly.
demo 2023 Cadillac XT4 FWD that has a great lease deal on it! It is a Premium Luxury with the Panoramic sunroof. The lease is $479 per month including tax with upfronts due ($1029).
Dealer ads are always terrible. They are usually not useful but, in this case, it could be helpful b/c, unless your MIL is really good at negotiating, why is her deal seemingly so much better than the ad?
I’m not great w/ the calculator, either, but my point in asking you to try it is b/c, as you said, the calculator and what your MIL are being quoted are totally different. And the deal your MIL is being quoted doesn’t actually seem structurally possible.
So that needs to be explained b/c I’m assuming something is very off (and likely not in favor of your MIL).
I am under the strong impression that there is some significant info missing (not necessarily from you directly but perhaps from your MIL, esp if she doesn’t know how leases work). Is she trading in a car as part of this deal?
See if dealer will provide lease sheet? This might alleviate some speculation as to where the money is going. As others have said, seems like an awfully low payment. There’s more to this equation.
I’m waiting on a lease sheet, but I brought all of this information to my MIL’s attention. She apparently found out that the DAS that she sent me was more of a down payment. However, that still doesn’t get the price down to what she told me. So, we’ll see.
