Why is everyone and their mother dumping their Lyriq right before lease end. Am I supposed to be doing the same?

I think people think GM not doing $7500 credit. some dealers in NC stopped giving even though GM does it

what does that have to do for existing leases

If dealers aren’t giving the $7,500 credit, they are pocketing the $7,500, meaning the new buyer isn’t going to get the 7,500. Means a much higher payment overall by $7,500. That is my logic here at least.

Went to look at another EV Caddy, and our local dealer said they aren’t offering the $7,500 credit. Dealers are taking advantage of people who aren’t knowledgeable about these things. A neighbor got the Ioniq 9 since the dealer wasn’t going to offer it.

so why would I dump my cheap lyriq lease before lease end asking for no DAS when cars on the lot are more expensive

Ohhh I agree. I would be asking for DAS if it is a cheap lease LOL. I even asked my neighbor to just ask for $2000 DAS and settle on $0 if needed. He said he just wants to get rid of it and doesn’t need a third car.

I personally think the lyriq looks good on paper but few owners have spoke with, don’t really like it for whatever reason. That could be it also. I do see many lyriq on private transfers like how there were so many i7 late 2024/early 2025.

It’s probably because they got a cheaper lease last month for a better car and decided to transfer out of this.

I upgraded to a Vistiq before federal rebate expired in end of September… so need to sell the Lyriq.

I would take it but I’m in NJ. Would you consider like renting it?

Where in NY are you located? I just took over an Optiq and love it so I might grab this for my wife.

I am in Long Island close to queens border

Man, if you were in NJ I’d be all over this deal. Good luck with the transfer!

Are you open to trades? I have this 24’ Ford F150 Lightning (FLASH) $550 a month + $2.5k DAS - #21 by NYCLaborer79
No DAS from you just transfer fee. Im close to you Lake Success

Wow, wish didn’t have to only register in NY. Good luck, I’d take it if not!

Unfortunately, transfer fee plus registration plus dispo is making this deal not so great. I would post it at Swapalease.com

Good luck.
