Cadillac Lyriq Luxury 1 RWD $64k MSRP || $436/mo sign & drive 15k/24

Posting latest hack. This one came together extremely fast since I challenged myself to buy a car in one day. I started shopping yesterday morning and signed it in the early afternoon. Took me about 6 hours total. Bought it locally here in SoCal and had it delivered to my home, where it’s presently sitting in my driveway until I go down to scope it out.

Based on my limited homework, I’ll note that there are slightly cheaper effective monthlies in the flyover states and out east, but none that would have offset the cost to ship it here, and I needed the car immediately for work. I was targeting a <$400 sign and drive on a 10k/24 term but decided at the last minute to switch to 15k, which is why the contract is structured with a weird DAS. The effective payment on 10k/24 would have been $382/mo, and is instead $438/mo with $400 DAS (effectively $436/mo). Deal would have been incredible if I had supplier discount or could have negotiated greater dealer discount, but I just didn’t have the luxury of time and needed to pull the trigger.

Details below, with calculator links and the Signed! contract for our super supporters.

Shouts out to @Hxkcktivist for working together on opposite coasts with price benchmarking, @Ursus for giving me false hope on GM Supplier, @oarfish18 who inspired me to lease her favorite car, and one anonymous user who inspired me to go Lyriq instead of another Benz EQ.

Newbie q here - why do the license, registration etc fees show close to zero? Other California contracts show them to be in the $700-ish amount. Were they re-categorized into another section?

They were rolled into the monthly. I’d originally planned to do just first month DAS but when I changed mileage terms I just told them to round it to $400. Typically I like to structure $0 DAS or throw drive-offs on a credit card but I didn’t have time to resubmit especially with CDK being down which is handicapping dealer efficiency these last couple weeks.

I have sent a message. Please check it.

HELLO SIR. PLEASE CHECK MESSGES. I WOULD LIKE DEAL also

Im going to post a signed shortly too, and you are getting the shout out @NYCLaborer79

Thank you very much for the explanation. I’m also in socal and have a lead on one I’m hoping to sign in the next few days - my very first lease. Learned a ton from this site, just gotta hope the Cadillac incentives are unchanged for July.

So now that you have had it for a bit. How does it compare with EQE?

That’s a great deal :+1:

I just signed mine yesterday, my first ever lease! This is for Bay Area (NorCal)
2024 LYRIQ Luxury 2, RWD
36 months / 12,000
Down payment - $1250 (includes first month payment)
Monthly payment - $511 (35 payments)
Was able to get same $10.5K rebates

There are a few things that annoy me:

  1. Can’t schedule charging hours. You can set “preferred” windows but the car will ignore them and charge when it feels like it. This is an extremely frustrating oversight.

  2. You can’t lock the doors from the outside. You have to either manually use the fob or walk the fob away from the car and allow it to passively lock itself. Dumb design.

  3. The whole thing runs on Google. As an iOS user, this is terribly annoying. For whatever dumb reason, the center ICE screen will not full screen the CarPlay window (it will only expand to occupy about 75% of the screen), nor can you view CarPlay maps on the tachometer/instrument panel. It basically forces you to navigate using google maps if you want complete functionality and screen utility.

  4. The center console is mildly uncomfortable for my right knee. Perhaps it’s just the fact that I’m tall, but I wish it was designed a little smarter.

Other than that, I’m a fan. It really is a nice SUV and my spouse loves it. Obviously the EQE is going to feel much more luxurious and is a more thoughtfully designed car, at least on the inside. More intuitive everything and a much smarter car than the Lyriq. The inability to set firm charging schedules or have touch lock/unlock handles on the Lyriq have got to be the stupidest oversights I can think of on modern day EVs. But it’s also the most GM thing I’ve ever heard of. They are great at almost getting things right and forgetting really obvious things.

That all being said, I think the Lyriq exterior is gorgeous (and I love the Emerald color) and I enjoy the larger cargo space and the fact that it’s less pretentious than having multiple Benz cars in the stable.

Post photos plz (not that I didn’t see Lyriq) lol

+1 to everything.

Plus, the center console is annoying on fit and finish. Squeaky plastics. Everything else is nice and solid, not sure why they cheaped out on the console.

Love super cruise and the paddle regen shifter!

The emerald green is actually pretty sick looking. Snapped this real quick earlier just for you but was busy today taking EQE in for service. Haven’t had a chance yet to get any good pics that showcase the color nicely

I put in as little effort as I possibly could to satisfy your request without delivering even the slightest hint of satisfaction.

You’re welcome

Update: car is being serviced for battery issue. For whatever reason, it won’t charge. Estimate is two weeks, so they sent us home with a GMC Acadia. Luckily I picked up my EQE from Benz yesterday where it was being serviced for an AC issue, so we aren’t having to garage two loaners at the same time.
