I had leased a Lyriq for my dad this past summer, the vehicle has had random issues that go away after a day. But today, the vehicle shuts down when put into reverse after moving a few feet.
Called few Cadillac dealers near me, and they are all rejecting to take it in as they don’t have capacity to service any cars (unless purchased from them). They said if I get it towed, it’ll just sit there on their lot, forget about providing a loaner.
Can dealers reject warranty related issues? Car has 6k miles on it only. First time I’m hearing dealer service department flat out saying no to work
If calling GM doesn’t work (which it probably won’t work since GM’s dealer network sucks a big pile of ass), you’ll need to put pressure on your Jersey dealer itself. A Jersey dealer rejecting service of a vehicle they continue to sell under their dealer license would place themselves at risk of adverse action.
The toll-free number for New Jersey residents is (800) 242-5846.
The warranty act at the federal level is no joke, it is illegal for them to make a warranty conditional (eg who you purchased from) provided you purchased from an authorized dealer.
If you have never walked into a Cadillac dealer in NJ, this is a good snapshot of the experience. My preferred dealer is Pine Belt, but they are still a last resort.
Man, that’s a serious dick move on those dealer’s. Cars are cars… the dealers get service income when they work on cars. Why they be like this to service members?
