Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing spin off - ordering, configs, flips, etc

Because of the tuxedo or your age?

Spats seem to be the silver bullet.

Looking for some advice:

I can order a CT5-V Blackwing at my local dealer for MSRP with a nonrefundable $500 deposit.

My thoughts: 4-5 month timeline. Which means I’ll get it in the middle of winter, RWD, in MI. Although that logic didn’t stop me from ordering a Hellcat (lmao) I’m not sure why i’m more worried about it here. Maybe bc it’s at MSRP instead of a discount like the HC?

Anyways, thoughts? It’d be a barebones build with a manual. Strictly to flip

if they have an allocation ready to build id say go for it, if not DM me ill take it lol

They don’t, the 4-5 month timeline includes waiting for an allocation + build + delivery

Ive been on a list for 2 months, currently #5 but Ive been told the build to delivery process is pretty quick if you have a light build once the order is picked up by GM

Ordered 7/16 I think I have a 9/22 ship date. No carbon fiber packs were unavailable so pretty light build.

Shortage across all GM brands. Otherwise, I would have gone Blackwing instead of ZL1

Just found a 2023 on lot being sold for MSRP. Should I grab it? Stats:

Black/black, 10 speed auto
sticker: $103k
options: sunroof, performance recorder, jet black leather interior, driver assist

Would be to flip

How long would it take to find the 36 speakers in that Escalade V?

Depends on your tax situation. And if you wanna gamble on finding a GM dealer to sell the lease to. I don’t think any room if you have to finance in a 8-9% tax state.

Think it’s a go, but better if you sell it out of state. Nobody would buy my GMF lease for a good price.

Plus side - you only need to add a bit more for your tag transfer since plate fees are dependent upon MSRP.

Yeah local dealers suck hard. I don’t mind expanding my search 2-ish hours away. 6% sales tax would nip a lot of profit in the ass so trying to avoid that. Autonation is about 2 hours from me, if they offer something good

Yeah might take it down to Ohio and sell it there

Anyone have thoughts on the fact that it’s a ā€˜23 and the limited MMR that goes with that? Would I be better off sourcing a lower msrp 2022?

why is that msrp so high? if i plug that build into the builder online the msrp is $94.5k. plus ~$600 for a color.

23s are up 7K from 2022 in MSRP

101 isn’t very high for a 23 when you add an auto transmission, non basic interior, roof, and a package or two.

The heavy / unique cars like this can be scary but also profitable.

A couple perspectives-
If it doesn’t feel right, stay away
If the numbers are solid and days supply isn’t too wild, it may be worth the risk
Seek out connections at high end stores that have a GM dealer in the network

And finally…it only takes one dealer to say yes.

I’ve had a couple of heavy cars where dealers I’ve reached out to wouldn’t even put a number on it, then another store comes along and goes nuts.

Overall, I think if you wanted to take a gamble, some Caddy dealer will always pay you MSRP for it. So you can decide if it’s worth about $2K (one month payment) for the opportunity to play the game.

I see cars like this as a fun challenge but you also get to experience an amazing vehicle that outside of this market, perhaps you wouldn’t try? And, looking at this year at a macro level, worst case you spend a few grand to drive an amazing car…would it hurt that bad? Just make it up on the next one. Not saying you’ll lose I’m just thinking worse case scenario.
