Buy or Return 2021 X7

,

Hi,

30K miles X7—xdrivex40, fully loaded, 2021: $950/month lease… The buyout is 49K, and the lease terminates in July. Is it worth buying out?

Your feedback is much appreciated!

Either buyout or trade in to dealership for equity

Are you over on miles? Do you want a new X7?

I’ll be over 1K miles by the time lease terminates in July. I would be interested in a new x7 or i7

There doesn’t seem to be enough “new” about a 2024 X7 to warrant rolling into a new lease on a different X7. If there’s another car you’re eying, or if your existing X7 is already having a lot of drivetrain/powertrain issues, I guess that may change your outlook.

Here’s a post on bimmerworld where nobody could really come up with a reason to go with a new 2024 X7 either.

Edit: i7 x60 lease is going to be over $1,200 a month… probably not worth the step up unless you really really really want a big EV Bimmer.

Thank you for providing this link.

If you’re leery about basically spending $49k o a 2021 X7, you may want to ping @Alex1438 and @Brokejetflyer. They recently shopped for used X7 and can compare what you’re about to commit to (a possible lease buy out) and what car you’re going to get in return.

Also, here’s a car that I think is similar to the one you’re about to turn in. $49k seems good to keep driving your current loaded 2021 X7.

I will include the folks mentioned. The buyout does not include sales tax which is roughly an additional $4500
@Alex1438 @Brokejetflyer Please let me know your thoughts. I am leaning towards buying out my 2021 x7 @ 49K plus tax

I got my fully loaded 2019 x7 for 45k from private seller. 55k for fully loaded 2021 x7 seems like a fair deal.

Your 2019 was $45k after sales/use tax?

Before, after tax it’s around 50k
