You are going to regret asking that question here in 3…2…1…

But to answer: No, do not even mention Leasehackr to a dealer

The EQS frenzy brought lots of people here. one dealer said to me, “your one of those lease hacker people. We don’t want your offers here.”

No. First, don’t go to the dealership. You should do your research and calculations, come up with a DAS and monthly, and email sales managers to see if they can do the deal. Mention the desired off MSRP and any known incentives will help. As soon as you mention MF or some other details, they’re going to assume that you’re just cross shopping and will ignore you. Most of the dealers have heard of leasehackr, and most of them will not do leasehackr deals unless they’re desperate to meet quota.

Most of the time when a floor salesperson knows you are a LH grinder, then they know there is no meat on the bone for him/her so their priority will be sending you out the door. It’s better find another fish than spend the next 2 hours working on a skinny. Opportunity cost …

As other have stated, never ever show a dealer a link to the LH calculator or a printout of someone else’s deal.

FWIW, I don’t recall the last time I negotiated a deal in person at a dealership.

I am begging you do NOT do this. As one of the salesmanagers who gets dozens of these DAILY just send the to a salesperson.

ALso please bring in your LH sheet. Makes my job easier.

These are contradictory actions. Discount off MSRP is useless without knowing the MF.

IMO nothing wrong with mentioning MF especially if you’re using MSD. MSD is one of the few levers that don’t take anything out of the dealer’s pocket.

You’re a leasehackr dealer that makes money on volume like Jim and AudiSam, but your typical sales guy that sells like one or two cars per month want the high margin deals.

YMMV, I guess. Giving the sales person some flexibility to move some numbers around to meet your das and monthly has worked out better for me than fixating on the MF from edmunds or an exact discount on MSRP (I just use a whole number percentage).

I agree with @max_g MF is very important as in most cases it can be marked up by the dealer, and you should do your best to negotiate down to buy rate, and exactly, discount is useless without knowing the MF. Know your buy rate MF and confirm with the dealer AFTER confirming the discount and incentives. There’s a MB dealer in SoCal (no names, if you know you know) notorious for crazily marking up the MF while giving a “bigger discount” on leases resulting in some horrible horrible leases to screw new/ignorant customers.
