BMW x7 lease check

Hi, I’m looking at a lease in NY for a 2025 bmw x7.

Basically, the dealer said they could match the deal published on the website, which they indicated does not include taxes and DMV fees. I estimate these to be about $6800.

Here’s the deal on the website:

https://www.bmwusa.com/special-offers/lease.2025-X7-M60i.tristatebmw.html?zip=11937

I guess I’m trying to understand if the following is a good deal or should I try to negotiate harder. And if so where should I push.

MSRP - $116,000

Monthly Payment - $1,299
Down Payment (excluding first month) - $7,605
Acquisition Fee - $925
Taxes and Other - $6,800

This implies the total payments over three years is $62,094.

Is there a good rule of thumb like take the MSRP divide by total amount paid and as long as it’s over X it’s a good deal?

General rule

Any local or nationally advertised deal is crap

For staters

  • SUGGESTED DEALER CONTRIBUTION OF $2,270

That means they are discounting $2,270 on a $115k car

It should be closer to $11k off or 10% before rebates

Thank you for the reply. It makes sense in theory. But do you have experience with BMW knocking off 10% on an x7?

Yes 9 year experience

This is an effective monthly payment of $1,700, which I’m sure most brokers could beat quite easily. Forget what BMW is advertising and do your homework on this site. I will also send you my leasing basics guide.

LOL, dan is one of the longest running BMW brokers on this forum. I’ve sent my people his way and suggest you get one from him too - it’s well worth his fee to save the brain damage.

Don’t think there’s any consensus. Personally I like to see that the cost of two consecutive leases doesn’t exceed the net cost of ownership (financing cost less the amount of equity at the end).

@BigLebowski I would love to receive your guide as well if you wouldn’t mind sharing. Thanks!
