My X5 45E 2021 lease is ending in September 2023 - I am intetested in the iX - one of the brokers I worked with earlier is suggesting to start the build now since it’s taking an year for the iX to be built and if it’s here sooner we can just negotiate with BMW since we are getting another one - does this sound like a decent strategy ?
To add to matters, a permanent move for me to CA maybe coming through work in July - what is the right approach here ?
If it means anything, Our order bank is nearly empty on the IX 50e at the moment so we would probably be able to snag a February build which puts it around April for delivery.

You mean like let you out of your current lease?
I think we’d have to be into May or so to be able to unlock dynamic pricing in order to break you out.
No telling what the trade values will look like at that point since that’s when the LCI should be dropping.
Worry about your lease after you move, or are certain you aren’t moving. BMW will likely offer an extension then if needed, and nobody knows what the first half of next year will bring.
