BMW X3M - Any chance this release depresses the price of the X3 M40i?

I’ve been in the market for a X3 M40 for a bit now, and obviously trying to find a great deal is a pain as you all know(even though I’m in SoCal). Dealers aren’t willing to discount those for obvious reasons. However now that the X3 M has officially been announced, do you guys think the price on the M40i’s could potentially be depressed a bit? Obviously this is my hope more than my actual belief lol. Given that it’s kind of stuck in the middle of the X3 lineup now I’m curious to see what effect it has on the market. It could be none, as the M550i still sells well from what I understand.

They aren’t in the same class. M40i will still be expensive and the X3M will be really expensive.

What kind of a deal are you looking for in the m40i? Did you look at demo cars. Dealers are sometimes willing to work with you in these cars.

I agree with what Jon said. When compared with prior generations, the M40i is just a six cylinder iteration of the X3 with the M-sport package included. The X3 M is a different and new beast. In BMW’s eyes (at least from my vantage point), they want $600/month for the X3 4 cylinder, $800 for the X3 M40i and $1,000 for the X3 M. Basically, 1.3 to 1.5 percent of MSRP. It’s up to the consumer to pay up or not.

We’ve seen some decent deals recently on the m40i demos. Bmw bringing back msd will help too.

MF is up a lot compared to last couple of years so bringing back MSD doesn’t help as much

Trying for high 5’s to very low 6’s all in. A few months worth of MSD. I got loyalty, Corp fleet discount, Costco so hoping those help. 100% trying to get a demo or loaner. I’ve leased a ML350 and now C300 loaners and I’m a huge fan of them. Great discounted deals(usually). I’m from the east coast and they don’t have as much as they do out here in SoCal which is great. Although I went to Fletcher Jones Mercedes and they said they don’t do that anymore. If I can’t find a good deal I might settle for a 540i loaner.

I just signed a lease last month on a 2018 x3 m40i Demo 3k Miles with premium and executive packages with for 592 a month with 3,700 DAS. This was in NY so I paid taxes upfront and no MSD. All in all this was about 18% off with incentives. The dealer still has some demos left on the lot.

That’s basically my dream deal, that’s awesome man. Did it include driver assistance package and or other premium options(Hk sound system)? Do you think that dealer can do a deal for California? Not sure how the delivery would work.

Just premium and executive package. I believe mspr was around 62k. I can forward you the info of the sales person I worked with. They can tell you if they would do a deal for Cali. Let me know

Yes please do. Thanks! Should I drop your name?
