I am looking for an X1 or X3 (depending on which leases better), for my wife and would like to get some help from the pros. Based on previous purchases/experience, do you know on average what percentage discount is hackworthy to negotiate with the dealer? By quickly looking at their websites I see 10% right off the bat, but wanted to know how much lower folks have been able to obtain. I have also seen bigger discounts (15-20%) but those are on loaners. Is there a magical number to shoot for on loaners as well?
Finally, I know there is no way to predict future months money factor values, but based on trend is this month’s 0.0015 a high or low number when talking BMW? The dealers in my area (midwest) all inflate to 0.0019 and are not willing to go with the base number.
I’m in Southern California so not sure how comparable the discounts are in the Midwest but I help my in-laws with an new X1 on 4/30/17 and I had no problem getting 12~12.5% off MSRP at initial offer(before any incentives). I just emailed the dealer with hackr calculation based on 12% and most of the dealer said ok.
Ended up eeking out .5% more when I end to the dealer in person.
Check out some deals on below website as a starting point. X1 list below come out to 11% off msrp I believe.
As for new X3, there are some helpful post from Ed Churchward where a good starting spot is $2000k below the invoice price.
Thanks Johnny, I appreciate the feedback and insight.
I was also trying to find out whether the current MF has been higher/lower than previous months. I know its impossible to predict what it will be next month, but at least i could have an idea if there is room for better rates or not (based on previous results).
