Not sure if this should go here or not but I’m in a pickle not sure which to get. I need a new car (SUV) in 2 weeks tops and monthly budget “was” $700 I have the following 2 offers from local dealers but not sure if I should get either one or just lease a Toyota with my man @Cody_Carter or a Jeep untill the Lux brands adjust in pricing.
BMW X5 sDrive Base’ish Model 36/10k 2k OOP 770/mo (CA tax included)
MSRP 60,400 $5000 discount from dealer with standard MF/RV
AUDI Q7 45 Base’ish 36/12k 2k OOP 765/mo (CA tax included)
MSRP 60,300 with $5800 discount from dealer with standard MF/RV
I started off thinking I would be able to get either one of these for 600/mo but quickly realized that was nowhere close to whats available so do I pony up and get the car I want or lease something else until price adjust then get the X5/Q7 if they go down in price.
I’m surprise the usual Trusted Hackr’s haven’t chimed in yet.
There’s no way for anyone to make any real comments about those 2 deals since you haven’t listed any the pertinent data- MF (buy rate?), RV, incentives, etc.
Oh yes sorry
0.00085 for AUDI and RV 53% $1750 Incentive
0.00093 of BMW and RV 52% $1000 Loyalty
I spoke with @Samaudibh but price was higher. I had sent few emails to dealers and these 2 came in few hours ago.
Having done so in the past, I would never buy a non-loaded luxury car. Every day I regretted it. Missing features, bad stereo, no tech etc.
My feelings if you can afford spending $1300 a month on a car (insurance, gas, maintenance, wash etc), pony up the extra $100-200 for a true luxury car.
Nothing worse than sitting in your grandmas Avalon and coveting some of the bells and whistles!
I picked up a loaded highlander hybrid platinum and it is quite nice inside, all the bells and whistles, nice leather. They are a bit higher this month, but way cheaper than what you’re looking at.
They are tired. You seen the amount of topics similar situation.
Desperate times, Desperate decisions. You got one thing right on the main post about Toyota though. If Cody can help you, not a bad idea if you really need a car right now to get into a non luxury lease and not waste time trying to look for a unicorn on either of the luxury brands you mentioned.
Agreed with @manku. I bought a 2012 328i that was CPO in 2015…didn’t do enough research. Ended up realizing my car had no Xenon lights, auto-dimming mirrors, power seats, alarm, power-folding mirrors, and my rear seats were also not foldable (yes, not kidding). Go near-fully loaded with German luxury makes because they nickle-and-dime all their features.
I’m surprised though that you said these are base-ish and their MSRPs are that high. Are these inflated by any chance? I know some dealerships are slapping on dealer-imposed packages right now just because of that chip shortage.
Since you are strapped for time, I guess just go with which you like best. Preferably which of the two has more packages and features.
