BMW Question regarding lease extension

Hi all. First off, thank you so much for any/all help here. I in NY State and currently lease a 5-series which is set to expire on March 2, 2026. I’d like to extend the lease at least 3 months, and possibly longer, so have the following questions…

  1. When is the right time to contact BMWFS to begin the conversation?

  2. What is the scenario that I should present to them to grant me at least a 3 month extension?

As for calling BMW for an extension, anytime in the next couple of weeks is fine. The BMW FS standard is to allow a 2 month extension and they are typically willing to allow another 4 months if you have a new BMW on order and can provide proof.
