I am looking into leasing either a C300 or a BMW 320 I Xdrive… any suggestions? Which costs more due to maintenance which drives better? Thanks
The only person that can answer the “which drives better” question is you. MBs are generally set up for a more comfortable/controlled ride while the BMWs are more aggressive and sporty (keep in mind that the 320 has the least powerful 3 series engine to the tune of about 60 hp less than the 328). I believe that BMW includes basic service in their deals (someone else will have to confirm as I have never leased a BMW) while MB does not (though you can try to negotiate service into the deal you make). Honestly, you need to get out and drive both cars and see which one you prefer. If its a very tight comparison, then let the numbers do the talking. Based on some other posts on the site it looks like you can get a C300 for about $400 a month. No idea what the 320i is leasing for (keep in mind that BWM did away with MSDs which is likely to hurt how great of a deal you can obtain).
First off look at a 328 not a 320, the extra money is well spent in terms of performance and equipment. The BMW will drive better, the Benz is a nicer place to be. Up to you which you value more. The BMW will be cheaper to lease and maintenance is included.
actually I believe they stopped with the 2 year free maintenance for the 2017 model year.
Incorrect it’s now 3 year 36k miles and they dropped some of the extras. No more free wipers, brakes and clutches (there may be a few more items but that’s the gist of it). Still an advantage over merc.

you should’ve asked BMW, MERCEDES OR GENESIS LOL. guess which i would say for you to get.
Or Infiniti Q50 for that matter - storming deals for them and seem to be great cars $ for $ vs either
The issue of which leases better between bmw and MBZ right now? Hard to tell - we are all waiting to see how BMW plays the game now that there are no MSD MF discounts.
I’ve been looking at leases on the 340i x-drive. Per Edmunds, the May residual (12k miles, 36 months) is unchanged vs. April at 61%. Money factor actually ticked up to 0.00150 (was 0.00146 last month). And obviously MSD are no more.
I was hoping MFs might be adjusted downward with the demise of MSDs for BMW. Unfortunately not the case.
Anyways, I know this thread is about 320s… but wanted to share the 340 info I received as I assume other models may behave accordingly.
Almost all the BMW residuals are available on their website, check the offers page, select the car you want and then “see more” on the right, it will have the msrp and the buy out at the end, divide buyout by msrp and you have residual. They quote 10k miles, for 12k subtract 1% for 15k subtract 3%.
I remember the good days a couple years ago when residuals were 66% for the F30
