Bmw loaner lease. model year 2022 instead of 2023? is this fine?

,

Hi does it matter that the model year is 2022 instead of 2023 for leasing a bmw loaner?
I’m trying to find loaner bmw and a dealer happens to have a 2022 MY unit which they put in service September 2022

any concern with it being model year 2022 instead of 2023? or this is fine to pursue for a loaner lease

Programs are probably different.

MSRP might be higher on a 2023 for the identical car / trim / equipment.

Warranty starts at the in-service date; presumably the average 2023 would have more warranty left than the average 2022, but that may not be universally true.

You can only lease them if BMWFS is still supporting those leases. I’d be surprised if ‘MY22 is still supported in June 2023

Maybe a dealer such as @BMW_Dave can confirm.

Somehow, yes, there is still lease support on 2022 models as far as I can see.

What’s a reasonable discount to seek after a 60k msrp demo 5 series that’s pretty bare bones

On a 2022, maybe 17%+? I’m about to list some 2023’s around 14-16%

Warranty is effected

Seems that the 4 year warranty (48 months)
Seems that getting a 39 month lease on it would mean warranty would expire very close to lease end date

There is no 39 month lease on 2022’s.

Then I guess it’s probably just standard 36 month. No enhanced loyalty in that case ?

Leased a 2022 last month, was told support will go through June, so finding a 2022 loaner is prob a good hack as some dealers have to be motivated this month.

If it went into service last September, then you’ll be covered for the 3 years of lease for warranty and have roughly 2 years of service.

Yeah I searched like 20 dealers about
I think I only saw one 2022 model so far

Good information to know
Hopefully they would be motivated to discount it nicely

No enhanced loyalty on the 2022s.

Only two years of service ?
Meaning engine oil change or any maintenance after that would be out of pocket cost ?

Basic stuff, mainly oil change & tire rotation. No tires, brakes, etc.

Make sure you know the expiration date so you can get a last service right before expiration.

Meh, if they don’t sell them as leases they’ll push them as CPO and bank some subsidy rather than give it away.

Inventory will have to double before you see desperation on anything but old body 7er and perhaps some 2022 iX launch supply cars.
