BMW Loaner / Demo Lease

I’ve been looking at leasing the BMW iX and often see deals on here for demo / loaners with heavier discounts. I haven’t figured out how rebates apply though (varies by model maybe).

I contacted a few dealers with loaners and even with the bigger discount it seems a new iX would be a better deal. In those cases the loaner only qualified for $5900 in rebates compared to the $10900 I can get on a new one.

Can anyone tell me the rebate structure for BMW demo’s? Are there any cases where a loaner can qualify for full rebates?

The rebate for a demo/loaner is only $5,900, so between that and the mileage on a demo or loaner, you’re much better off just getting a new one 99% of the time.

It can depend on where you live, too, for example in states that tax the selling price you may be better off with a deeply discounted loaner.

So tag the correct state instead of “USA nationwide”

Thanks for the info! The new one does seem to be the better deal unless the loaner discount is enough to compensate for rebate difference + residual impact of the loaner mileage.

That’s a good point - updated post. I’m in Indiana (monthly tax).

Correct, but especially with this month’s MF, dealerships aren’t willing to go super-deep on these. Additionally, because of the shortages of them around the beginning of the year due to the stop sale and them getting backed up at the port at that time, there aren’t a ton of loaners around with the time and mileage that warrants a larger discount to make it worth it.
