BMW lease takeover -- what maintenance am I responsible for?

,

Hi,

I took over a 2019 BMW lease for which 33k miles are allowed. The car is now at 28k miles. I was told by the dealer that the maintenance is not transferrable. The dealer quoted me $550 for changing engine oil, brake fluid and wiper blades.

My questions are:

  1. Am I responsible for the brake fluid and wiper blades?
  2. Is there any other maintenance work I should do before lease return?

Thanks!

It should be transferable (assuming it’s not too late to do so) by paying $100 to re-enable the servicing provided from manufacturer to you at no cost.

Others shall chime in with more info

Thanks for the reply.
Indeed, it is too late now to refresh the maintenance as it has been more than 36 months since the date it went into service(loaner car).

There’s a ton of Indy shops in NJ/PA that’ll be more cost effective and can give you a good assessment of anything else that needs to be done at turn in (PM if you want recommendations). Dunno about wipers, I figured that would be a consumable, but the first brake fluid service is needed at the 36 months from production mark (not lease start date). Personally wouldn’t do it at the dealer, unless there’s a good special.
