I’ve just turned in my first BMW 2019 3 series lease this Tuesday and when I turned it in, everything was going fine. Had a $400 minor dent damage (see picture )but was covered from the wear and tear protection that I bought. Had the inspection and signed the paper that said damage is covered by the lease protection and only the grand total of $350 was owed (disposition fee)
Today, I got my refund from BMW and it seems they still charged me for the $400 damage plus the $350 deposition fee off my MSD. Is that normal and I will get the $400 back on a later date or claim? Any suggestions would be much appreciated as this is my first BMW lease.
Was it BMW lease protection or 3rd party? I have used lease protection before, and BMW’s lease protection was instant, however apparently the last time I bought it, turns out the same dealership sold me 3rd party (Zurich) lease protection instead of BMW, I had no idea, and I was supposed to have contacted Zurich 90 days before return to set up a separate, 3rd party inspection. I was told by the Genius at lease return to accept his inspection and the 3rd party would contact me, and instead I got a phone call from BMW financial services telling me it was my problem to deal with the 3rd part lease protection, and I owed them $600 (which obviously would have been covered under the lease protection).
