BMW IX - Get 2024 or hunt for discounted 2023?

Most of the broker deals in the marketplace are for MY '24s and for the x50 vs the m60 that i’d prefer. It seems like ~10% discount for the 2024 x50s is a good deal but i’m not sure what discount to be targeting for a 23 M60 which are still available in my area

Any pointers are appreciated.

There really is no meaningful difference between the 23 vs 24 M60 that I am aware of, so I would say 10-12 would be what you want to shoot for, obviously a 2023 will be aged more, but it’s not like there is some major feature differnece (that I am aware of) that would make someome not buy a 2023.

Thanks - i guess i would have guessed the MY 23 would see better discounts to make room for the 24s. Is that not the case?

I’m just saying from a dealer perspective, the age of the unit matters more, a 2023 vs 2024 matters less when the car hasn’t changed at all. That being said, there still is a limit, even for an aged unit. I think the discount you could get on a 2024 or a 2023 would be similar.

Huge difference bwtqeen 50 and 60 in terms of speed, options, and look plus most of the 23s using old software that is not upgradable. Read on BMW forum. I did huge research , I was seriosuly considering IX

For the M60? It’s no different 23 vs 24 besides software.

Edit: See you updated your post, nvm

Software is a big deal and air suspension.

Forgot dc charging speed thats is not upgradable on 23s

Originally you were saying 23 vs 24, I now see you’re comparing 50 vs 60 so that’s a bit different. I’ll give you the software thing, mainly ID 8.5, but I believe as far as M60’s are concerned they had air standard in 23 vs 24.

You right I was comparing year and 50 vs 60.

2023’s are kind of a hodge podge where some will have air suspension but some things missing like massage seats are driver’s side only. If it’s early enough it’ll be stuck at 8.0 software which isn’t upgradable.

2024’s after July builds have an upgraded seat opening that’s supposed to be less intrusive for shorter people and air suspension came back with recent builds.

Long story short unless air suspension is a must have, I’d get a 2024 as it didn’t seem like the 2023’s magically got you a larger discount based on dealers I spoke to and for EV’s like this it seems like later model years are better than earlier.

The only advantage you’ll see going for a 2023 is a lower base price. There are 16 non-loaner/demo 2023’s in the entire country and only 6 of them have air suspension/integral active steering.

'24s will have the newer head unit and run iDrive 8.5. Not sure how much that matters as hopefully BMW will keep updating 8.0? But for resale etc might as well get a 24.

2023 iX M60 are a bargain if you can get one for a nice deal.
