Have driving ix50 for 15k miles and tire thread left 4-5/32 probably need to replace in next a few month when 24m checkup
I saw my OE size ( 255/50R21) are expensive and limited choices with low Treadwear rating (200-300) Im afraid they will need another replacement at lease end which Im trying to avoid,
I saw 275/45R21 is almost perfect replacement for its diameter and plenty of choices with high treadwear rating (600-800)
only concern is will dealer accept them when I return at lease end?
What’s the acceptable thread for return? If your current one is still acceptable, get the new tires now, keep the current one and put them back in when it’s time to return it.

You’ll get charged for the tires if you return other than OE size ,spec, and RFT if applicable.

Get used OE tires at lease end that are within the wear guidelines. For BMWFS, I believe it’s 7/32 or 8/32.
Btw, my iX came with all season Good Year tires (255/50 R21) - they’re just about at 6/32 at 12k miles.

BMWFS will not accept a different size afaik.
In the meantime you’ll probably be getting worse efficiency and range too.
What is the width of the rim?
Look up the minimum wheel width for a 275 tire.
Also will it rub any part of suspension?

As suggested used tires for turn in are the play. If you want new tires for whatever reason, depending on the brand of OE tire, some will do goodwill discounts through tire shops to keep you with the brand (I was able to get 25% from Michelin on my iX for my OE replacement that wasn’t covered by tread life warranty and 43% for my second set based on tread life proration).
