Penfed has rebate on this? I didn’t think so?

Sorry. It might have been a military discount through id.me.

24’s have an MMR now

So if you get a 95k car for 11% off + rebate you’re sorta kinda but not really even on value

It’s a strong initial result, about $8K over the 2023 average, which is a pretty significant premium. I do not find it surprising, given the 24 is a better vehicle.

What changed from 23 to 24?

The biggest feature in '24 is Highway Assist which allows hands free driving up to 85mph. '23 models only have hands free up to 40 mph. There are some other small fringe benefits such as Plug and Charge and GPS-based Comfort Access. One large feature that exists on stock '23 models is Air Suspension and 2-Axle Rear Steering. Air Suspension is extremely rare on '24 models, and rear steering is not available on '24s.

Also I could make a strong case that the '23 model is better than the '24 iX 50 in the most important ways, but the '24 does have a newer computer which will allow it to access future upgrades by BMW.

The iX would be absolutely sublime if it had the 10 degree rear steering like the Benzes. I was genuinely impressed with the EQS’s ability to navigate a parking garage. We just can’t have it all…

The biggest change is the head unit upgrade (HU5), which happened in the middle of the 2023 model year. Along with this new hardware is the switchover from Idrive 8.0 to Idrive 8.5 – which in my opinion is a significant improvement in usability.

Any features which depend on HU5 cannot be supported on an early head unit. This includes full hands-free driving (aka Highway Assist), A/R driving visualizations and remote parking. Coming from a Tesla, where i had these features, for me this was a requirement.

Air suspension remains a stand-alone option, but rear-steering is not available. Have not missed either of these but handsfree at 85mph is amazing, especially when compared to the latest Autopilot updates.

I went with a poverty build on mine.
Just the convenience package.

Thought about adding the drivers assistance and air suspension but opted against it to keep costs down monthly.

If I was keeping the car for a while or was my only car I would have added Sport and ventilated seats also.

If you read the fine print, this is what’s stated:

Monthly lease payments of $699 per month for 36 months / 30,000 miles
MSRP of $90,595
Suggested dealer contribution of $4,000 (4.42% discount)
$9,900 Lease Credit
money factor: 0.00050 (base)

Due at signing: $699 first month’s payment, $925 acquisition fee, $4,755 capitalized cost reduction (down payment)

disposition fee of up to $495
Tax, title, license, registration and dealer fees are additional fees due at signing.
Advertised payment does not include applicable taxes.

So with a huge amount down and before including dealer fees/title fees/tax you are at $700.

Take out the down payment (do not put money down on a lease!) you are at $834

add the tax in for your situation (not sure what state you are in), dealer fee and title fees and see what your monthly is.

now you are assuming you can walk into a dealer and get 5% off with money factor at base…

or you can cut the crap and the take a premade dealer from a broker and save the time/hassle.

Thanks for the info. I contacted the suggested broker.

And a real sunroof that opens

You had full hands-free driving and A/R driving visualizations on a Tesla ?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am trying to convince my wife for us to get the BMW IX lease and I keep on telling her that it’s a “great deal” as I have seen many hackers say on this forum. Is it because it’s 20k off MSRP or is the residual value inflated on paper (going down in 3 years???) what gives? How is a deal good enough in comparison to the MSRP?

I think it’s finally leasing for about what it’s worth.

I have said this all along, and this is coming from someone who thinks it’s a decent vehicle: It is not a $100k car, it’s a $60k car with a $40k battery.

When you get in an iX, it does not ooze some level of luxury you’d expect in a car approaching or exceeding $100,000, but it’s nice inside, has really good tech, and a decent range.

At the current prices they’re leasing for, I think they objective are a good deal.

I would slide that closer to a $70K car with a $30K battery TBH. It’s objectively at least on par with a similarly equipped X5 IMHO.

It’s interesting that BMW isn’t just throwing ridiculous money at these cars and is at least attempting to protect the RV% somewhat by subsidizing the rate unlike certain other makes.

There are $100,000 SUVs, and then there’s the iX.

When I first saw one, I assumed that the X3 had been redesigned.
