Does BMW still take a summer break from production in July? Is it only at the German facilities?

Only asking because I placed in order in August of 2021 and got a better discount than I’ve seen since. I guess what I’m asking is if they ramp up production after the break, open more allocations, possibly leading to more flexibility from dealers in August.

I’m guessing that’s not the case. I think for me it was more to do with ordering a 2022 with the facelift coming for 2023 models. Also it’s a 330 so it was built in Mexico, so the summer break may have even happened.

While I can’t answer your question specifically re: BMW factory breaks (but I would assume yes), I can assure you that whatever deal you received back in 2021 had nothing to do with the plant’s vacation schedule and everything to do with the market dynamics of 2021 vs. 2023. Completely different time and market.

Yes, there is a factory break with production resuming in August.

Thanks. I should have added it wasn’t a pre-Covid level deal, it was just the best discount on the same model that I’ve seen since.

I guess I just got lucky with the timing….

Timing any market is a dubious pursuit, but it sure is fun when you get lucky!
