I have this lease for about 6 more months.
My tires are worn out at 18,500 miles
The dealer just say this is normal, I tried to ask if manufacturer has some sort of warranty or so as this appeared to be a case of premature failure to me that tires are going out this fast.
He said he can’t help further and I could talk with service manager. Does anyone have any successful experience regarding tires going out quickly and BMW helping you in some way ?
Note: I do not have any tire insurnace. This is my first bmw and first time with run flats
Not surprised, you can probably get more information from bimmerpost. I used to switch out the run flats with non RFT and give it back upon lease turn in.
Yes the G20
Had to change rear brakes at 14k miles like what lol… the car has known rear axle defect on exerting extra braking pressure. Had my car been manufactured two months earlier I would have been covered.
So far changed rear brakes and now the tires are done.
Yep figured around 15K or earlier your rear brakes were shot. I thought they were kidding me at 16k miles when they told me and the brake warning came on. Car is trash.
Interesting, I’m at 22k miles on my 2021 G20, 90% highway, and have had no break issues thus far. Had to replace all four tires at one point due to a flat, so I can’t really speak on what the wear should be.
Are you seriously trying to get your tires warrantied for losing tread over the course of almost 20k miles? Also, all 4 of them have the same coincidental manufacturer defect?
I suspect we’re going to see a lot more of this as the early 2020 leases come back.
I was advised to at least ask. I’m coming from Hondas and acuras so I have never had tires brakes going out prematurely during a lease. Only once I changed two tires on a CR-V that was driven 35k at the time of lease return
But this current car is at 18k miles and brakes went out at 14k
So the “bmw” experience is a first for me
Just learning
My advice in general is to put a nice pair of all seasons on when you get the car, and keep the stocks for lease return. This way you get cheaper and better riding tires to use during the lease, with no lease end charge or need to buy more expensive replacements.
