Yeah, it looks nice imo. Not too happy about the price increase though. Especially on the 50e. That hp and electric range increase is nice though.
I’m curious is the engine in the 40i and 50e the same B58M2 in the 7 that have port and direct injection, or is it just tuned to be more like the one in the M340
The 10mi feels like maybe they just unlocked the pack to EU spec, which would make sense.
Idk if that’s worth the price increase personally but we’re gearing up to take orders on the LCI soon.
No, it was stated that they are using a new 25 ish kwh usable pack for the 50e
The 45e pack is 24 kWh nominal and locked to 17.1kWh on this side of the pond.
So if the new pack is 25, it’s possible they brought up pack voltage a tad and unlocked to EU spec.

BMW B58 TU2 - DI and Port Injection
Looks like the updated B58 in the new X7, 740i, and now the X5/X6, will feature this dual injection.

This was on my shortlist of cars for the SO, but not worth the significant price increase. BMW also hasn’t passed through the 45e fed tax rebate; doubt they’ll pass it through on the 50e.
From what I’ve seen, it’s $6800 more than the 45e starting price. Could be wrong so ymmv. Maybe @IAC can confirm if I’m on the right track.

I’d buy one if that’s the case instead of leasing… Looking at a M Sport build with few additional options most likely so it shouldn’t be too crazy hopefully.

$5k increase…assuming some more things are coming standard (hopefully) in addition to new engine?
Problem is that’s near cayenne base pricing…for a BMW…
