Biden Admin proposes requiring electric vehicle charging stations every 50 miles on federal highways

What is the sales tax on a $1 loaf of bread? On a $2 loaf of bread?

Your actual facts aren’t welcomed here. No one is better than supreme leader big orange.

I’m gonna guess double.
nm, groceries aren’t taxed in most states. Tax on the Dunkin’ Donuts I bought this morning ($2 more per dozen than the last time I bought a dozen) was real though.

And when it matters in a few short months, it won’t just be Pepperidge Farm that remembers.

After watching the WSJ video referenced earlier in this thread and living with only a Nissan Leaf for the last 3 years I am very jealous of China’s state-run charging network.

The thing that annoys me about private companies managing charging infrastructure is that they currently have done a poor job of proving they can do it. Having to sign up for different apps and accounts, making sure your info is up to date on all of them, having to use a 3rd party app like PlugShare to track the status of all of them, and then having them still be broken or unavailable when you get there is a pain in the ass. Not sure if the state or federal government can actually help, but I would at least welcome them to try given the current state of affairs.

Also after reflecting on the video owning an EV requires a lot of additional knowledge that owning an ICE car doesn’t require. In the video, one of the writers mentioned spending hours charging a Bolt to get from SE MI to NW MI likely because they were using Level 2 chargers vs DCFCs. Maybe they didn’t know about the DCFCs or maybe they were broken, but a normal person is probably not going to know the difference between the two when the car says there is a charger nearby.

Asset inflation, cap gains tax.

Anybody want to point me towards a good charging station / infrastructure play to invest in? I googled it and came up with a few, but I dont trust the sources that tout " the 5 best EV charging station or EV infrastructure plays".

Who is tripling the already broken grid that will cause more dirt to build than it will ā€œ saveā€

Poor people paying more for everything = silent tax. 100% spot on. It’s how govt increase revenue without ā€œraising taxesā€

I’ve been buying some evgo under $8. Fcel under $3.50 and plug under $16. I have tight stop losses on them all bc I know they can go lower.

Don’t underestimate oil. Even though there’s a war on oil refiners they could still double from here if things get bad. Most of that easy money had been made but the dividends and potential price growth still look good to me.

What a libertarian making a shit load of money would do to make it right to help less fortunate? Other than blaiming goverment. Not that the govement gets a free pass.

We save people money every day in spite of the market conditions, sir. Perhaps not as a selfless motive but it contributes toward the greater good nonetheless.

And in the words of a famous DC staple: We feed them.

My point is - get off the high horse here.

When was the ast time you took a trip with kids? I stop every 30 min for bathroom, food, etc between 3 kidsšŸ˜‚

I’ve read that article and I think it’s a bit of B/S because only then they realized all the ā€œfunā€ parts of charging. The person who had an EV for some time will know most of the downsides of public charging before setting for the trip especially trying to us L2 charges. That can be done overnight while parked at the hotel.

That articles should have been written like 7 years ago.

I’ll off-ramp it myself buddy. Save you some time so maybe you can contribute to society instead of clicking refresh and off-ramping all day.

How about charging $99 (or maybe even $49?) fee for the less fortunate instead of showing your tax returns? Or maybe lowering rents for your tenants? lol

Did that really make you lol? I’m sure the less fortunate don’t buy $30k + cars or live in $1500/mo 1br apartments. I charge what the market allows.

Also why do you feel it’s ok, as a moderator, to constantly go off topic? You brought it up about what do I do for the less fortunate. I’ll provide proof. Will you?

Nah, your two edits did.

Your complete irrelevance on the forum makes me lol. Thanks for your charity though. Helping all the less fortunate here for free is admirable. We need more ā€œthought policeā€.

That’s odd, because in CA, I STILL wonder how they get the CVAP, which requires you to earn about $70k as a couple but still be able to afford something 40k+
