Between 2 used cars: '16 GMC Terrain vs. '19 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport (Hertz)

You aren’t? You have time to photograph them and dress them down in their own thread. Why not (clickity click) see if it’s safe to drive?

Yes, haha.

After my 2020 Highlander rental stalled on me as I entered a parking lot and wouldn’t start for 10 minutes and I had to have a stranger help me push it out of the roadway, I went on a tear determining what happened.

I’m a huge fan of hyperbole, so don’t take this the wrong way, but that’s a sample of one (and have you verified with a Toyota-trained technician that the open recall had anything to do with the problem in your specific car)?

I’m not sure I’d characterize what I wrote as hyperbole. I understand your point about a sample of 1. Interestingly my sister & bro-in-law had a 2020 Highlander rental over the summer and had the same thing happen though.

The recall describes pretty much exactly what happened to me (and to my sister’s rental) and I verified that the recall was not conducted on that car (the rental car agency later confirmed that the recall was not done). So maybe it wouldn’t hold up in a court of law, but circumstantially, it all fits.

My comments were intended to be lighter than meringue. Sorry if that didn’t convey. :pie:

I wasn’t offended or anything, just was clarifying.

But at this point I’m distracted, because now I want some pie, lol.

Check the KBB values of both vehicles vs the purchase price… Also the monthly payments, vs interest rate… Interest rates are also based on the cars value… See which one has more value vs the cost
