What site is this that you used for the balloon calculator? I have done 2 balloons before and very happy with them and looking to do one with another car soon. Hoping for a Mach E. I live in SC so the good thing about my state is that you don’t have to make the final balloon payment and can keep paying on it without having to refinance.
Shopping for a Grand Cherokee 4xe? Consider a balloon loan on a used 2022.
$146/mo $0 DAS inc NJ taxes and fees. 24mo 18k miles a year term. Great for a high mile driver.
Pretty good find. I haven’t tried to look through the calculator in a while. Curious if anything makes for a good balloon loan nowadays.
Anyone have any suggestions for things to look at!?
Where did you find 4.99? My local is at 5.44
Capedcu is offering a “not-advertised” 100 bps rate reduction for existing members of 30 days or later. This brings the advertised 5.44% “as low as rate” down to 4.44% for 24- and 36-month terms, but generally I qualify around 50 bps higher than the lowest rate (credit score+LTV). Can recommend a loan officer if needed.
Is the lookup only available to dealers? Tried searching/wanting to mess around to see what other kinds of vehicles would make good options but can’t find anywhere for the public information
The one calculator lets you search every individual car. The only issue is in my brief search, everything I found just didn’t make sense for a balloon loan.
I was trying to see the ‘better than a lease rate’ but didnt see that option when randomly checking
Can they do all of this remotely? I’ve not found a CU yet in the Portland, Oregon area that offers this.

This seems like it would work well with this program for 2-3 years.
How much is a warranty?
Uffff.… ![]()
Anyone found anymore possible options for these programs? I haven’t seem to find anything that works well.
Actually looks like I found one.
Any balloon loan specials happening for July?
July programs for 2023 Dodge Ram 1500 Classic SLT and 2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe still favorable, payments in the mid $200 range. I’m working a deal on a 2022/2023 Ford F-150 XLT, but this program is more like mid $300 range. Capedcu offering 5.19% rate, if you qualify for all rate incentives – this is up from May when it was 4.99%. Holding out to see if they fall in August.
Thanks for putting this together—this is incredibly helpful. I’ve been trying to wrap my head around balloon loans and how they differ from traditional leasing, and this breakdown really clarified the pros and cons. I especially appreciate the real-world examples; they make it easier to see when a balloon loan might actually be the smarter move. Definitely going to keep this in mind as I shop around, especially with some of the current EV and truck deals out there. Appreciate you sharing your insight!

Nice! I will definitely be in the market for one soon so will see how the program changes (or lack there of). Thank you for sharing this!
Who is the balloon through? Can you do this for any pre owned vehicles?
