Best sienna / odessy (minivans) lease deal you've seen in NYC?

hello guys,

I have been looking into minivan lease (toyota/honda. not sure if chrysler is reliable) around NYC but they seem to be “less appealing”. i am guessing its due to their money factors.

so out of curiosity, what were some best lease deals that you’ve seen on these minivans?

i would be surprised to see something like $400/month iwth $400 DAS.

thanks

Siennas and Odysseys are not great lease candidates IMO. There is a captive market and Toyota/Honda haven’t really needed to support their sales (i.e. no incentives). More of a “buy” than a lease if you want one.

IIRC siennas remain in high demand and you may be able to get a couple thousand off MSRP, or MSRP at worst. Match that with NY taxes, my SWAG says it’s $500+/month with a $2-3k DAS.

Similar with Odysseys though you may get slightly better deals there.

I’ll let others comment on the Pacifica and that hybrid powertrain (reliability)…

i did more research and it shows exactly what you said…

minivan is something that i should be buying, rather than leasing it.

so now i am leaning towards buying 10-15 yrs old sienna as they seem to be “best value”

Not be a worrywart, but presumably this is for your family. Most vehicles built that long ago do not have nearly the same level of structural safety and rigidity as the latest vehicles that achieve a Top Safety Pick + from the IIHS. In fact, an overwhelming majority of “modern” vehicles will fail the latest IIHS safety tests. It’s only vehicles built within the last 3-4 years that were purposely upgraded to withstand the newest versions of the side impact test, which uses a much heavier impact force to replicate real world conditions. The safety tests of old were meaningless on roads where the prevailing vehicle is a monstrous (and completely unnecessary in almost all cases) pickup truck.

Kia Carnival is probably your best bet for a minivan lease, although it will be closer to $500/mo effective cost.

Odyssey and Pacifica have decent lease programs, but nothing great.

The Sienna’s is abysmal from Toyota Financial Services (.00300 MF, or 7% APR). Maybe there’s a non-captive with a better rate.
