Best Performance Cars for < $1,000/Month?

Does such a thing exist anymore? It’s been about 5 years since I last leased a car for myself since I financed my previous car. I’m wondering if there’s any comparable cars at 1k/month price point for a well-equipped performance car or are those days gone?

For context, I’ve got an almost fully loaded 2023 i4 M50 and while the car has been a thrill, I’ve been itching to get into something new. Figured I’d see if leasing a 1k/month performance car is even realistic these days before looking into selling the car. I’m open to both EV and ICE. Would love an ICE Porsche (not a base Macan) but I know what I’m looking for is just not realistic at that price.

Beating i4 M50 would be a tall order. Maaaaybe model 3p or ioniq 5n?

There are S E-Tron GT or even RS E-Tron GT deals in the marketplace for <$1k (with varying DAS, obviously better chance of hitting your target all-in on the S model).

Good to know. I’ve been looking at the RS E-Tron GT but unfortunately most local in-stock specs are more in the $1300+ territory.

I believe you can certainly get an damn fast audi for less $ than $1000.

BMW i5 comes to mind.

MB Ege AMG

Not sure about as a lease. But a 2022 maybe a 2023 model S plaid could be a purchase option.

Also if the SUV market is an option

Here are SUVs faster than the BMW you took out. I am not including the lower budget ones from Kia / Genesis etc

BMW IX M60

BMW IX M70

MB eqe AMG

Cadillac Lyric V

Rivian r1S (quite a few are faster from tri motor to quad motor depending on year)

Tesla model X plaid

Also forgot the lucid air in the post above.

I’m only naming EVs as they are still the most lease friendly.

I know the e-tron GTs were moving at around 1k for some time but I haven’t really found too many in-stock specs that fall within that price range but I’ll keep looking.

Initially I was planning on switching back to an ICE car but given that it’s the final month for the tax credits I knew EVs would be the most lease friendly so figured I’d stay in an EV for the right car, mainly an S/RS E-Tron. The wife already has an SUV so I was looking to replace our sedan/coupe.

Plaids are in the 40s I think currently. I can’t see possibly losing 12k on that over the next year. I guess it’s possible but hard to find something else with that spec at that price with that low risk of depreciation. Was considering a used x before I got my Hummer suv. Market has seemed stable since the huge drop off 4 months ago
