Looking for suggestions regarding my wifes next lease vehicle. She currently has a Nissan Rogue which expires in April, but shes looking for something with a third row, or if feasible, a minivan. I’m leaning towards a pathfinder since they seem to be relatively affordable, and we wouldn’t have to worry about the disposition fee transferring to a different brand (also, the interior would already be very familiar to her). We are located in upstate NY.
I would like to stay around $550/mo or less with zero down if possible.
Thanks!
I can do an sr5 premium runner 48k msrp around 550. Or highlander xle 585ish. Both have 3 rows leather and sunroof etc. You’re not gonna get a van in that price range without a lot down. Both of those should have some equity at lease end unlike most Nissan products.

How many seats do you need? This one allows a 11 seater configuration: https://www.kia.com/content/dam/kwcms/my/en/pdf/YP_11S.pdf
Thanks Jim, I’ll keep these in mind. I think the 4runner is probably a little to “trucky” for my wife. The highlander is more in the right zone though. I kind of figured a minivan would be too pricey.
The Carnival would be a great option, however its likely going to be out of my price range.
I’m looking for 6+ seats, with the second row being captains chairs.
Some of the hybrid pacifica’s may work if you order and it has the right incentives that month, dig around the marketplace for them. The Volvo XC90 depending on region and month/rebates can get down to that price or close to it, and some have captain chairs, 3-rows. If you didn’t need 3 rows I would suggest the Nissan Arya.
Unless you find a great lease, buy/finance a Kia Sorento or similar.
Just don’t fall for something like $2k DAS + $550x35 and then repeat that again… ie spend $42k+ in lease payments for a $44k car.
Mazda CX-90, Highlander, or Pathfinder.
Best minivan is sienna, not a good candidate for leasing, it’s hard to get under msrp either.
I don’t know why any dealer would discount a sienna. Still sell in advance 90% if the time. The only one I’ve seen discounted was $1k in the south bc it had a bunch of BS addons like tint, ppf etc
Is it a supply chain issue? Or are they deliberately producing less of them
wait until the summer when the VW ID Buzz comes out.
The '24 Santa Fe is a good looking vehicle, wonder what availability/pricing will look like on those in the next couple months? Kinda fits in the same category as pathfinder/telluride/palisade/highlander
More like market demand issue, they can’t produce fast enough to meet the demand.
Hyundai doesn’t provide much lease support behind its ICEVs in general; I’d expect 0 discount and 0 rebates for something as new as the new Santa Fe
Any particular reason you recommend the Sorento if I can’t find a decent lease? We owned one years ago and really liked it - there seems to be so much competition in the family suv market these days, its somewhat overwhelming. I also cant really wrap my head around the fact that most manufacturers seem to produce vehicles so similar to each other (sorento/telluride, palisade/santa fe, etc)
Never seemed to be a shortage pre covid
You need to realize the current sienna hybrid model year starts at 2021.
Mostly the attractive entry point. A well equipped hybrid at around 43k, and you get to benefit from the resale value of combining the most desired powertain type in the market (hybrid) with the most desired shape (3-row crossover).
Different price points … often a good 15-20% higher
Also the current and all previous Santa Fes have never been 3-rows. Only the future one. But that’s the direction of the market: offer a smaller cheaper TRC (three row crossover) and a larger, more expensive one.
I didn’t see OP mentioning what minivan. I’ve always had good luck with Odysseys. May be something worth looking into.
Our 2019 lease (10k/3, $450/mo) had equity so we traded it in for a MY 2022 back in 2021 (10k/3yr, $350/mo). I live in Portland, OR. First deal was with a dealer in Seattle, second was with a local dealer through Costco.
Not sure what the market looks like now but our lease is up this coming May.
edit: the 2nd row can be captains chairs since the middle seat is removable. IMHO, Odyssey is the best minivan since they have the Magic Slide. It’s very convenient for kids to get in and out without any one’s legs in the 2nd row getting in the way.
