Best iphone compatible OBD2 Bluetooth computer scanner

Fellow LH’ers,

I’m looking for a recommendation on good / inexpensive OBD2 Bluetooth computer scanner they integrate with iPhones. Many I’ve seen on work w/ android.

If it integrates and then can query info from the Internet on the error / issue it would be great.

Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

Have you checked amazon. On amazon they show you what phones it should be compatible with

Thanks, I can find ones that work with iOS, but also looking for recommendations or feedback on personal experience if people have units they really like for interface and functionality.

Honestly I have used quite a few of the ‘cheap’ ones. And I found the most reliable was my trusty $20 hardwired one.

Too many issues with hooking up to bluetooth to see all the ‘fancy’ stuff that the cheap ones keep breaking.

I have another question, do these devices come with their own software app, or do you buy a 3rd party app that provides greater integration?

Depends on what you want to do, simple OBD scanning can be done with a ton of generic apps, coding have their own apps, but those apps also have lists of compatibility with scanners. Is there a specific task you want to accomplish or you just want to pull codes for CEL?

I’m looking to pull CEL codes, understand what is wrong, and maybe a link to replacement parts or solutions (if that is a feature).

Just about every bluetooth module can do that for you.

I’ve used Torque as the interface app in the past.
