In all seriousness… In order of importance to me, not necessarily how good they were:

2016 Chevy Malibu LT, 30k MSRP 39/12K $176/mo w/ $1900 DAS (My first real “hack”)

2020 Jeep Gladiator, 44k MSRP 42/10K $297/mo, $297 DAS $396/$396 DAS with negative equity rolled in)

Obviously biased but the 2017 F-Type deals that many of us cashed in on were my favorite hack in forum history. The F-Type is both an enthusiast’s car and a total looker.

We’ve scored plenty of dirt cheap deals here — even some that have turned out profitable — but from the perspective of best driving experience for bottom dollar, the F-Type takes the cake for me.

The $54 a month BMW i3 by @HN308 is, in my opinion, the true epic hack of this community. If I recall, it even got press coverage.

If you count the $ I got from GM for the bolt recall, I’d have to say my Bolt LT (40k MSRP):
Total cost is -$183/m for 36m

I forgot all about that… I had my Bolt LT for about 20 months and GM effectively paid me $202/mo to drive it after I got the repurchase settlement!

And what’s crazy about this is it was before the NJ EV rebate.

This is going to be a fun thread.

Best lease price hacks:

  1. 2019 Volvo S60 T6 Inscription demo (120 miles) - $53k MSRP
$185/mo including 6% tax, $1800 DAS plus max MSDs
  2. 2018 BMW 340i xDrive demo (1200 miles) - $55k MSRP
$299/mo incl. 6% tax, $1200 DAS plus max MSDs

Best lease flip:
2021 Camaro LT1 manual - $39k MSRP
$269/mo incl. 6% tax, $369 DAS
Sold it after 3 months for $3000 over payoff (should have waited until summer, didn’t know COVID market in 2021 was going to be that nutz)

$2600 Equinox + $1400 in TTL

Free Bolt + $800 in XSWear. This was before any Costco incentives. Would have make $3k net if I signed a few months later.

Best lease before car flipping became a thing in 2020.
2016 Chevy Cruze - $30/month for 24/10 with TTL. Sold to Beepi and cashed out.

Nobody mentioned the Tacoma/Tundra craze of 2019 yet.

Man, the good ol’ days of leasing.

Nothing too crazy but way better than anything today and didn’t have to “settle” on a car I didnt want to get a deal (ahem Frontier…)

2017 Mercedes-Benz, E300 4matic loaner $62k MSRP - $354/mo

Then it got totaled so had only a day to get another one

2019 Mercedes-Benz, E300 4matic loaner $66k MSRP - $464/mo

Those were the days… sigh. :frowning:

I mean the lease I got wasn’t as good as the ones out there, but if you include the money I made when I flipped it I guess it could get on the chart.

2020 Nissan Leaf SV (40kWH) (Tech & All Weather), 39k MSRP
$159.65 p/mo with $159.65 DAS

After 10 months & 11 payments ($1756.15)

Sold it with an equity check for $4380, subtract $1756.15

Total 10-Month Lease Cost: ($2623.85) // -$238.53 p/mo

Not too bad considering I was definitely over mileage and the car was driven like it was stolen.
