Best Full Size SUV or Van to lease in this market?

Underwater, bad economy, aforementioned engine issues, $120 to fill it with premium, 15 mpg, insurance premium, etc.

Carnival or Sienna hybrid purchase will be the most rational decision for this situation

Don’t buy a minivan if those 3 kids and your 5 person family require any room for stuff (sports, outdoor equipment, coolers, etc.) past the third row of seats. If so, get the Tahoe/Yukon or even the Suburban/Yukon XL unless you want to have a Yakima or Thule cargo carrier up top which is a total PITA with a high vehicle - running boards or not.

We had a Yukon XL for years and it did everything and hauled everything. Totally worth it.

What would lease be on it?

Prob like a grand. Haven’t ran one recently everyone buys these

How about the new Sequoia?
Or a CPO Lexus LX ?

Sequoia has disappointing storage with the back row in use. Should have built that in the 6.5 crewmax platform for the extra foot. Then it would compete with the large domestic SUVs better

Why not? Guarantee it will have way less issues (if any at all) than any chrysler or gm product.

Whats it worth? Just so it can end up in the shop a few weeks later? You get what you pay for

Can get you a 350 premium in the mid 800s if you do MSDs and inceptions up front. Even less if you do a lower trim

Grand for what, a Yukon?

I’m all for reliability…..and it would take a lot for me to even consider a Jeep product, or a GM. We’ve had Lexus vehicles for years and you can’t top the reliability….and if it is in the ship, at least I get a loaner. I know I won’t get that with any domestic product.

I’ve talked to a few brokers on TX’s. Where are you located? Wife is set a F sport model if we go that route. She hates the premium base wheels.

OK what about to buy 48 months?
Excellent credit three grand down?

South. But you have to be prepared to pay more if you want the F sport. As for GLS 450s, I may have a loaner or 2, but its still not a cheap lease. Best course to not break the bank may be to just go the minivan route

Lexus TX has never made sense to lease over buying since its inception. The RV/MF is just not there.

Not sure I understand this advice, especially comparing against Tahoe/Yukon non-xl.

Cargo behind 3rd row:
Sienna: 33.5ft
Carnival: 40ft
Tahoe: 25.5ft
Yukon (XL): 25.5 ft / 41.5ft.

I suppose the flat floor helps. But point is the minivans def don’t lack in cargo space.

Didn’t say they did and the post speaks to OP’s preferences overall.

Flat floor helps for sure, but I guess my inference of taking the thing anywhere where you really are using it to lug items for “sports, outdoor equipment, coolers, etc” was lost as that’s where a minivan will generally not work.

As I said zero rigs will beat a Yukon XL with space (as your numbers show) and I can’t say I have ever seen a minivan with a V8.

I can put coolers easy without folding the 3rd row. You can also take out the 2nd row & make 3rd row flat to haul stuffs. I dont know how big is the space for yukon or tahoe, however compare to grand highlander, sienna simply has more space.

Does the smaller v8 have the same issues?

Yes, but they hold their value. People said the same thing about the the previous generation GX, but you’re typically never underwater on a Lexus lease and can get out early if you want. I’ve had decent equity in my last 3 leases.

Gosh I would love that.

I would never recommend a Toyota Sienna to anyone ever. Personally driven my extended families minivans while visiting out of state and I have driven almost every generation of Odysseys and Siennas, 2 generations of grand caravans, the current Pacifica and Grand Caravans.

All I can say is, what the heck was Toyota thinking when they put a 2.5 litre 4 banger paired with a CVT on such a popular in demand model.
