Best EV or PHEV SUV

Located in Southern Ca, looking to sell my 2019 Grand Cherokee Limited X and get something of similar size, give or take, but either all electric or a plug in hybrid. Looking for something under $600/month.
I’ve seen and liked the Sorento hybrid, but wondering if ya’lls expertise can lead me in another, better direction. I know “best” is subjective, so open to all suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

If you have time the Jeep Sahara 4xe is really popular.

Tesla - if you don’t mind the wait, its cheaper than $600/mo too for base model

It’s not out yet, but the Santa Fe PHEV seems like a great option. No idea how it will lease.

I wouldn’t even bother considering a RAV4 Prime. No idea about Escape PHEv.

Are you seriously suggesting the Tesla 3 is similar in size/practicality to a Grand Cherokee?

My hot take: Base model VW ID.4 at MSRP ($41,190 after destination) with Clean Fuel Reward ($1,500 point-of-sale utility rebate) and CVRP ($2,000 mail-in rebate, when it returns), financed over 60 months. Qualifies for a $7,500 federal tax credit and comes with three years of free DC fast charging. Should net under $600/month to finance with probably $15K in equity after five years.

Well you did suggest a model 3(the only tesla even possible under $600) to someone requesting suggestions for vehicles similar in size to a grand cherokee…

Wouldn’t bother with RAV4 because price? Or is it just not good?

It was as much as $5k-10k over list in normal times.

Really tempted to give this a run. I’ve been seeing a few of these on the road and love the way they look.

Say one qualifies for all of those rebates, is it possible for positive equity 2-3 years in?

For some reason, I don’t like the look of this car. Anyways, why not check out the Outlander PHEV? I think the price is pretty attractive.

I’ll make you a sweet deal at $1500 over before CCFR :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not sure any such vehicle exists? You’ll either need to go smaller or increase your budget.

Positive equity doesn’t really mean much on a loan. The shorter the loan, the earlier you’ll have positive equity. Doesn’t really add any value to the actual analysis you need to do on a purchase.

4xe is the answer, as far as I’m concerned. WELL under budget.

I am waiting for the Ford Lightning EV truck - that will be my daily driver on the CA HOV carpool lanes all by myself in that huge truck!
