Best 3rd row SUV

,

New York area - looking to replace my XC 90 whose lease expires next month. I like the size of the car and know some of the 3 row SUVs are simply too large for my needs. What do people think of the Highlander, Pathrfinder, Ascent and XC60? If there are deals to be had at any one of them in the North East region that would likely sway my opinion and get me to bite.

Thanks

I went from a 2019 XC90 (lease) to a 2022 XC60 (purchase). Drive is basically identical. XC60 is a 2 row however.

Checked out the hyundai palisade?

Volvo had great deals last month.

Unfortunately you missed Costco rebate.

You can still use loyalty and pull ahead program ( up to 6 payments) to get into another new Volvo.

Also check marketplace and get current quotes for Genesis GV70 and Infiniti qx60

Good luck.

I was going to suggest Honda Odyssey if you want useable 3 row vehicle. but cramped 3 rows you cant go wrong with those listed.

If payment is not an issue, I would recommend sticking with the XC90 for leasing. XC60 is nice but no 3rd row.

Mazda CX90 is another option with a decent 3rd row but I’m not a fan of the seats compared to Volvo or even other luxury brand seats. Steering wheel is stiff/sporty as well and is not to everyone’s liking.

Highlander and Ascent are better as purchases IMO.

This! minivans are best

Why you guys offer minivan for OP?

Check Marketplace for QX60 and Santa Fe.

Broker had one for $400.

OP didn’t really give us much info on his needs. He has a 3 row XC90 today, says that some 3 rows are too large, so leaves me assuming anything bigger than an XC90 is a no go.

If OP wants a deal, he needs to go shop Wrangler. Otherwise more details will help with better recommendations.

I’ll 2nd that minivans are awesome though lol

I think wrangler deals are dead.

How about GMC Acadia

Another vote for minivan. Cmon guys, if you are family with kids and need 3rd rows, just bite the bullet and buy minivan, you will need it sooner or later. Get the fun car as the other car.

May I ask which deal for what car?

I love minivans but a 3row 4runner could work or a brightdrop https://www.porterchevy.com/new/Chevrolet/2025-Chevrolet-BrightDrop-400-for-sale-Newark-DE-edaa59feac182f71495d7172c50d1cd7.htm

I am also looking for 3 rows. We are a family of 3 now but expanding into 4 in 2026, with extended families visiting every few months to make a group of 6 or 7. I currently have Ioniq 5 SEL whose lease ends in April. Would love the next car to be reliable, safe, and hybrid/EV.

How early should I start my search? What should I do to look for good deals? (I got a decent one-pay lease with Ioniq 5 SEL in 2024 in SoCal: $7.8k all included for 2 years x 12k miles).

What about the Infinity Q60? That’s a smaller 3 row. I know last month the lease deals were good.

Buy a new sienna & keep it until the youngest one goes to college. Heck, by that time, you can give it to your oldest if he/she starts a new family :stuck_out_tongue:

Haha I see a lot of love for mini vans here and in Reddit – seem pretty reasonable, just not sure if it’s an overkill for us. Plus we live in cities so we don’t know how much more challenge it will add to parking
