New York area - looking to replace my XC 90 whose lease expires next month. I like the size of the car and know some of the 3 row SUVs are simply too large for my needs. What do people think of the Highlander, Pathrfinder, Ascent and XC60? If there are deals to be had at any one of them in the North East region that would likely sway my opinion and get me to bite.
If payment is not an issue, I would recommend sticking with the XC90 for leasing. XC60 is nice but no 3rd row.
Mazda CX90 is another option with a decent 3rd row but I’m not a fan of the seats compared to Volvo or even other luxury brand seats. Steering wheel is stiff/sporty as well and is not to everyone’s liking.
Highlander and Ascent are better as purchases IMO.
OP didn’t really give us much info on his needs. He has a 3 row XC90 today, says that some 3 rows are too large, so leaves me assuming anything bigger than an XC90 is a no go.
If OP wants a deal, he needs to go shop Wrangler. Otherwise more details will help with better recommendations.
Another vote for minivan. Cmon guys, if you are family with kids and need 3rd rows, just bite the bullet and buy minivan, you will need it sooner or later. Get the fun car as the other car.
I am also looking for 3 rows. We are a family of 3 now but expanding into 4 in 2026, with extended families visiting every few months to make a group of 6 or 7. I currently have Ioniq 5 SEL whose lease ends in April. Would love the next car to be reliable, safe, and hybrid/EV.
How early should I start my search? What should I do to look for good deals? (I got a decent one-pay lease with Ioniq 5 SEL in 2024 in SoCal: $7.8k all included for 2 years x 12k miles).
Haha I see a lot of love for mini vans here and in Reddit – seem pretty reasonable, just not sure if it’s an overkill for us. Plus we live in cities so we don’t know how much more challenge it will add to parking
