Benz - Warranty and coverage with a lease

Hi Experts

Got a question for you. I am looking to get a benz and working with one of the dealers in leasehackr. Great to work with and great reviews. I want to understand what you all considered on the warranty / protection side. Spoke to the finance person today and the pricing seems high. About an additional 53.21$+ per month (first class lease protection) and potentially some tire protection. Wanted the general take on this group about the costs.

Benz covers 2 maintenances. You turn it in on maintenance 3, so no extended warranty needed.

The consensus here is unless it’s Audicare (Which changes your payment for the better), nothing the finance person can sell you is worth it.

Thanks Forbs. The whole story that I was reading was around how Benz tries to charge an arm and a leg when you return the car at the end of the lease, and this was supposed to cover about 7500 in damages. Great feedback , thanks

  1. Everyone charges an arm and a leg for damages, not just benz.
  2. If you are leasing a BMW, and are prone to curb rash, then MAYBE you need the wheel and tire.
  3. Finance people make a lot of commission to sell you a warranty (more than the dealer makes selling you the car) so keep that in mind.
  4. If you are someone who really needs the warranty, I would suggest buying a cheaper car instead of leasing an expensive one.

Look at your last lease, did you go over miles, did you ‘f’ up all your tires, did you dent the door with a mark larger than a golf ball? Then the warranty starts making sense.

If you hang out on the internet long enough you will find stories of every manufacturer charging “an arm and a leg” at lease end.

Unless you just completely trash your cars you really don’t have anything to worry about.
