The built quality is so good, so much better than EQS, the carbon trim with blue features looks awesome. G - roar sounds pretty cool and I also did a G-turn in my neighborhood which is totally priceless. The G-turn really got me haha although it is stup*d feature, it is so much fun.

If anyone on LH hacks a G580 from Bow Tie guy, make sure you film the two of you doing a G-Turn for his reel.

How many times will you do it when tires are on your dime?

Can you really quantify the value of stuntin’ on foos?

I did it on dirt/grass surface so It didn’t do anything to tires. I believe you can’t do it on the road/surface concrete which I have seen in one of the YouTube videos, haven’t tried it on the road or even considered it. What was surprising for me that all electric G gets now Falken tires from MB.

“MSRP $192k”

That’s the equivalent of some guy putting his August baseball tickets on StubHub for $3k a seat. Sure, that’s the suggested price, but it doesn’t matter since nobody will buy them.

I said it earlier, MB will fight the battle here, but it’s a losing fight. That $192k MSRP will find its way to auction in 6-12 months for 30, maybe 35% less than that MSRP. They can’t devalue the G Wagen, and I’d bet they simply stop producing these in like 18 months or so.

They can always choose to hold as many bags as they got on the lot.

Too late for that. I believe BofA determines reward levels over 3 month period.

FWIW: I was at Encino MBZ earlier today and chatted with some random salesperson standing next to one of those on the showroom floor. He claimed that they finally moved 3 this week. No idea if true or not but then why would a car salesman ever lie?

Maybe someone with a Visor.vin Plus account can look at how many sold G580 listings have come off the board on a trailing 30d … and x2 the number to extrapolate a full month sales.

BTW, Plan B for ya - open and contribute $3 Mil to LH BofA account this coming Monday and you’ll have your 3 mos $1 Mil avg with about a week to hack the EQ Waggy. Game?

We are getting real close. Demo unit, they wouldn’t dip below $700 to not “diminish the brand” but I have a sneaky suspicion I’ll be getting a call back next week as end of month nears.

This. Whoring out the G580 will pretty much ruin the coveted grip they have on the MV of the rest of the G lineup. This car is not like the EQ’s.

More like Shadon’t

They could hit two birds with one stone and use these to bridge new sales in the future.

Lease one for 24-36 months sans front loaded rebates and get a $24K-36K break end of lease (must ride out the term) toward your next flagship Benz. It would likely flush out anyone they don’t want to be seen in one (AKA, Us.) :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Would that actually do it though? Leasing a new electric one at $2k+ month for 2-3 years to save $36k versus buying an ICE version for a year and selling with positive equity? Anyone with $$$ would go for the latter. They need to pause deliveries on the ICE version to force the image seekers (who need a new car) into the electric one, until inventory gets depleted. Then resume deliveries on ICE

This is actually smart and if they offered end of lease rebates for like a G, S, AMG SL or GT. You’re still eating shit for 24/36 months overpaying for this thing so it prob nets out evenly for the consumer.

Agreed, it’s where I’ve arrived on this too. With that being said, you still get punished for bad business decisions, and this was def a bad business decision.

They’ll fight it, but it’s a losing battle. These will be at auctions, and they’ll depreciate terribly. Maybe not as bad as the EQs, but the depreciation percentage spreads won’t be substantially different.
