Honda Village Newton posted on website. Anyone do a one pay yet? How low can it go? Add in $3500 MA rebate and we are getting there.
Getting to where? To double that of a Blazer payment? Same car under the skin
Exactly… I don’t understand why anyone would insist on getting a Prologue vs a Blazer EV. It’s the same platform and it’s literally built on the same assembly line in Mexico. It’s not like you’re getting any Japanese reliability, perceived or otherwise.
And you can get a Blazer for this price at these terms? I see higher pricing from brokers as need a 36 month to get the additional 3500 state rebate.
Some cars are just cheaper at 24m even without the rebate.
The only reason to get a Prologue over a Blazer EV would be for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto… But at $488/mo, you are striking distance to a Lyriq from some of the data here (?)
And the ZDXs are piling up around Boston… They will have to get blown out eventually… No reason to get a ZDX when a Lyriq is less…
Im pretty sure that the 36 month lease programs (and dealer discounts) are significantly better than what Honda dealers are offering at the moment.
How much in fees and taxes buried in an asterisk?
High 400s, GM Ultium… you’re better off with the Caddy or wait for the glorious return of the Ioniq 5 deals on a Limited - this month they destroyed the residual, maybe to test if people wanted the car no matter what, or the cheapest payment (we want the latter…) but they’re also piling up on the lots and for this month will continue to do so.
Also, close to 500 if it doesn’t have to be an SUV I’d look for the i4, maybe even the M50 if you can stretch the budget a little.
How much in fees and taxes buried in an asterisk?
Assuming it’s a true sign and drive, they probably already threw in the MOR-EV rebate if the car retails below 55K, it’s what all dealers do in MA instead of discounting the car they just post the main incentives from the manufacturer and the state to parade “$11-16k off” but zero dealer discounts on the vehicle itself, if they don’t ADD to it with “must-buy” dealer add-ons
Did the Ioniq 6 residuals get destroyed as well?
I’m in the market for one and yes, I ran autocompanion’s calculator and, for example, the SE’s residual was 70% last month on a 24/12 and now it’s 61%. Hyundai increased the lease cash but it won’t offset the depreciation difference at all. On dealer sites and my own calculations they seem to be ~$100 more expensive a month to lease now compared with my quotes from last month.
My theories are:
- They got tired of losing money as depreciation offset the residuals by quite a bit
- They are gambling people really love their cars enough to lease them outside the crazy leasing programs they have been running (not true for the 6 considering their abysmal Q2 results)
- They’re “reconsidering” the EV approach since the sales aren’t there unless they “give away” the cars - look at the unsold '23s that became “used - certified” with 10 miles on the odometer or the deluded dealers holding onto “brand new” status and not moving them even at 10~20k off MSRP (with a 20k residual on SELs and lease payments that are the same as financing it…)
- This is usually the time of the year when they announce what’s coming for 2025 so they’re already starting to drop support for 2024 models?
Yeah, I feel like the EV support is actually getting worse overall in the industry, even as they languish on dealer lots.
Or it just gets moved around. GM went from losing their shirt on Bolts to losing their shirts on Blazers, Lyrics and Hummers.
I went to the site and there appears to be a $0 under the asterisk…it’s a first for me.
What I saw on the site was a “ask dealer for the actual details”… which might as well be a giant asterisk.
