Balenciaga’s new $1,800 purse looks like a Lay’s potato chip bag

I don’t shop. Last time I went with my wife I just complained about the prices of everything so she doesn’t allow me anymore.

Organic avocados? Lord have mercy!! :joy:

The organic thing is one of the biggest scams out there. But for certain things, like avocadoes it is scam on steroids.

Are you really using the huffington post? I buy non fda approved organic produce from farmers markets typically. It’s not much more expensive then the franken fruits. I’m ok with it. I like the just in case insurance as I have no clue what these chemicals do long term to my son. I save plenty on not buying full health insurance.

I used HuffPo so I couldn’t be accused of spreading “misinformation”.

I don’t drink coffee either, so no daily Starbucks and avocado toast for me. I spend my money on speeding tickets and lawyers like any good car enthusiast. Thank you very much. @HersheySweet can attest to this.

Hah!

I also buy stuff at the local farmer’s market (and usually don’t buy organic). I can tell you from personal experience that avocados ain’t happening for under $3 a unit.

Didn’t read the article, but a lot of farmers follow organic practices but don’t want to spend the $$$ on certification. So it does make sense that it’s often a waste of $.

Oh, I think more than low key, after his latest antics… Too bad, b/c I think he’s a genius. But…

If Taylor from Big Brother this year doesn’t get that with some of her $800k winnings I shall be disappointed

Rumor has it that these will be included in the glove compartment of every new Celestiq

I’ve basically stopped doing this.

There’s no way to know if the food was grown locally or purchased from Costco or a produce wholesaler for resale, unless it’s a producer-only type of market and that’s rigidly enforced.

I’m not sure I’ve ever encountered one of those, though.

Can’t forget car care products. Oh and Porsche maintenance

I saved $1/mo on my lease by adding the additional year of maintenance. It would have cost me money to not maintain it.

I forgot to mention Mozeralla sticks.

I totally get the point you’re making. I’m actually pretty sure that the ones near me are actually the rigidly enforced ones and, at least for the produce, actually are direct from the producers (as in, I actually see the same people in the farm’s IG posts). I do intermittently see bureaucrat types walking around w/ clipbaord and pens at the various stalls. And many of the vendors are the local (but very well-known) growers that the high-end restaurants (or higher-end fast casual places) brag about using.

So fingers crossed that the ones here aren’t a scam.

I just use mailed coupons from our Whole Foods knockoff known as Central Market (IMHO better than WF though)

Will need to see if we have those in Los Angeles.

I always get a metaphorical rash when I walk into Whole Foods…
