Hi all, i’m looking for what possible lease deals there are on AWD sedans/SUVs in the $200-$250/mo range. I’m looking for a friend who is a doctor and needs something reliable to replace his aging car. He’s in the NYC / Long Island area. I was looking at the new 2017 Subaru Imprezas. Ideally he’d like a nicely optioned car but doesn’t have to be decked out with leather and all that stuff. Something like the Premium trim for the Subarus.
Check out other Subarus also. Impreza just came out and is in demand, but you may get a decent deal on a Legacy, Crosstreck or Forester.
p.s. a doctor should be able to afford a bit more to get what he needs - like in $300-350/mo range.
Hehe, he’s in his residency so he’s not making the big bucks just yet. So is what I described possible in the $200-$250 range? Or are better car available for this range?
Maybe some Hyundai/KIA small SUVs. Or JEEP Renegade or FIAT?
Edit: you can actually get a 2017 Subaru Forester 2.5i Premium w/All-Weather Pkg+Starlink MSRP $28,107 for about $237/mo incl NY tax if you get sale price $24,700 (about $1,5K under invoice)
Check numbers here and see for yourself what’s doable:
2017 Subaru Crosstrek 2.0i Premium with EyeSight + Multimedia Plus Audio + Blind Spot Detection + Starlink MSRP 27,124, selling price $23,894 - $257/mo incl. tax
all 36/12
Renegade leases like trash - the compass/Patriot makes more sense.
RV on renegade is 44%!
Hmmm interesting, the Forester looks like a good deal!
Unless there’s something specific to where he lives (like a really sharp incline or something), I don’t think he needs AWD in the NYC/LI area. I’m sure you’ll see a ton of FWD cars in the hospital parking lot.
Has he considered buying a car?
Toyota rav 4 xle comes with awd plus toyota safety standard plus maintenance included for 2 years. Meets all the criteria imho
After the residency, i would be happy to recommend the porsche cayenne turbo s lol
The snow does get pretty deep out in the LI area. But i supposed you’re right, with a shovel in hand and some patience he probably would be fine. He hasn’t considered buying/financing a car since he’ll be moving to California in 2 years, and he doesn’t want to deal with selling the car.
Do you have a link to that deal?
See above 20 chars…
Dang wth… just when i thought some deals I was looking at were good. I wonder if the recent graduate discount applies to medical school though? haha.
All these leases are for 36 months and you said he will be moving to CA in two years. Shouldn’t you be looking at 24 months leases?
Last I checked it applied to any accredited US 4yr college or graduate school including nursing …but Google is always your friend.
How is the RAV 4 MSRP 32154?
I get to 31960 when building on the Toyota website. RAV4 SE with only the power package.
