Unsold EVs rotting

I am not surprised at all. The pricing of Tesla Model 3 and Y is unbeatable in today’s market which in turn kills other EV makers.

Agreed- as a consumer, being an early adopter has its risks and patience has its rewards.

Jaguar sold 80 units.

I’m more wondering who’s driving around in the BrightStop vans.

Mazda Sold 51 MX-50s…lol

But Jaguar is telling anyone who will listen that they are betting the future on electrification:

Do we think all 80 drove them home, or does Sales just park it in Service and send them home in a loaner? :leopard:

You can pay for an entry F Pace and enjoy an F Type loaner for your entire lease

I didn’t want to further derail an unrelated thread but continuing from here.

 Who defines these categories?

I’m more surprised with the Sienna shortage, how it can be #2

Lol those charts are from the California New Car Dealers Association. I would imagine the dealers simply have to create some bins of vehicles that are routinely cross-shopped as perceived through the eyes of the sales folks. There was a debate on another forum whether a BMW i4 and Tesla Model 3 are competitors. The CNCDA and some buyers tend to think they’re cross-shopped, but smarty internet forum users disagreed.

If you have a grievance to file with the CNCDA, here are the peeps.

We use my fiancés RAV4 like a truck, so I guess there’s some merit there :man_shrugging:

Famously (at least famous if you’re lame working with regulations / emissions), The PT Cruiser was classified as a truck because of the way the load deck and hatch were configured to meet CAFE rules. This meant the PT cruiser’s 10 year run was a mega-mega-mega win for Chrysler Corp.

Is there any truth to this ford rumor on YouTube on several videos where they are still charging above sticker but it’s like a backwards illusion or something that they have way way too many pick ups or suvs? And are in trouble? If so other makes also? And and any truth the gov is gonna try and stop them somehow? Thanks
